Candida Diet Before Candida Cleanse?

One of the best ways to prevent overgrowth of Candida yeast is Candida cleanse. A Candida cleanse is defined as a detoxification process that aids one’s body to rid itself of toxins while maintaining the growth of the yeast that lives within body. Nevertheless, before you decide to pursue this detoxification process, you must consult a doctor first. There are people who suffer from withdrawals during or after the detoxification process which is why consulting a doctor is essential.

The best way to begin with the detoxification process is by following a Candida diet first. The diet typically calls for you to avoid sweet, starchy foods besides foods that contain yeast and a lot of sugar. You may eat plenty of vegetables that are starch-free in your diet. Some of the most best vegetables for those plagued with the condition include onions, radish, peppers, spinach, tomatoes, asparagus, brussel sprouts, broccoli, summer squash, garlic, zucchini, cauliflower and turnip. Eat fresh meat, fish and eggs with high-protein content. Plain yoghurt and probiotics are also ideal for those who have Candida as they contain good bacteria that are highly-capable of battling the yeast present in one’s body.

You may also take into consideration drinking herbal teas since they have anti-toxin properties, making them a great addition to your Candida cleanse. Herbs such as ginger, licorice, lemongrass, clove and cinnamon contain anti-fungal elements that aid in fighting Candida.

You can also go for spices like oregano, cumin, paprika, turmeric, rosemary, basil, black pepper and thyme as part of your Candida diet. Detoxifying your body will back you up in keeping the Candida yeast in control and will also keep your system clean and healthy. Have a strict routine for yourself and try sticking to it.

Q&A: Best affordable brand of yogurt to use for yeast infection?

Question by Kathryn Brooks: Best affordable brand of yogurt to use for yeast infection?
Hi I was wondering what brand of yogurt is good and works for a yeast infection and the best way to insert it into vagina. Should I put it in with fingers? Should I dip a tampon in the yogurt then put it in or could I fill a tampon applicator with yogurt, freeze it, then insert it?

Thanks for all answers.

I wouldn’t use yogurt for yeast infections. Where did you hear that from? My doctor told me drinking cranberry juice is good for the bladder and infections. As home remedy this may be a good choice to go for.

For a more formal and better treatment, you can just go to your local pharmacy and buy an over the counter medicine for yeast infections. Many women have problems like these. So finding these products shouldn’t be difficult. I would ask someone who works their to help you find it.

As someone that has a vagina, I know that douching can cause yeast infections because it kills all the bacteria even the ones that help clean the vagina. It also increases your chances of getting yeast infections. Many doctors would advise you against using a douchebag because it causes a lot of problems such as yeast infections.

What are some of the most powerful ways to eliminate Candida from the body?

Question by Look Its Jay: What are some of the most powerful ways to eliminate Candida from the body?
I have 2 persistent skin infections so it might be best for me to tackle the problem at its core, rather than superficially.

You can control candida by diet, as its a yeast infection. Get a proper diagnosis first as it may be something else such as eczema which requires different treatment.

Whats the best way to keep a yeast infection away while pregnant?

Question by Danielle H: Whats the best way to keep a yeast infection away while pregnant?
I am 20 weeks pregnant and I have a yeast infection. I went to the obgyn and they said to put creams on it and eat lots of yogurt, but most the time the creams don’t help. I was also wondering how much yogurt I should eat a day to help keep it away?

You may want to look into taking a probiotic. They are available in the vitamin section of most drug stores. Probiotics contain the active cultures that are in yogurt. Raspberry leaf tea (health food store), not raspberry flavored tea, also is good at keeping down yeast infections. Eating a couple of servings of an organic yogurt with live cultures is still a good idea even for the extra calcium, I like Stoneybrook farms. Cranberries are another help with infections. Good luck

What is the best treatment for a yeast infection?

I think i have a yeast infection, because i feel discomfort and it burns when i go to the bathroom? Its also sore. Do you have any advice on how to treat this?

Answer by Meadows-Phillips is a mouthful
Go to the doctor if this is your first yeast infection.

For me, Monistat and Diflucan both didn’t work. I had to have a prescription strength yeast infection cream. I used it for seven days and it worked great. Diflucan works great for some people, but it didn’t make a difference at all to me.

ETA: If you do use Monistat, make sure you get the 7 day and not the 1 or 3. The 7 day is more effective. The 3 and 1 day treatments are concentrated and can really burn your skin.

Q&A: What is the best thing to do for thrush and candida overgrowth?

Question by keeferdude: What is the best thing to do for thrush and candida overgrowth?
I have been ailed with this for over 3 years now and it is getting worse, I have lots of abdominal pain, fatigue, and an overall of not feeling well. The doctors do not seem to help, most do not think I have it, others have given me just a small dosage of medication, which helps for a while but it always returns. I take about a half of a bulb of garlic a day, and that seems to help, but it is not taking complete care of it. Please help.

Cut sugar out of your diet, including sodas, fruit juices and other sugary things.

I have a few suggestions.. Although garlic is good, pick up some virgin coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. Replace your oils and even butter with the coconut oil. I actually think you should eat a big spoon full the first 3 weeks. Do this in the mornings and at night. You could and probably should oil pull with the oil as well first thing in the morning. Swish it in your mouth for 15-20 minutes or until it turns white.

Mix the apple cider vinegar in tea or distilled water and sip through out the day. (You can add honey if you like). Use a straw. ACV is acidic. (This will balance your ph though).

Another suggestion is along with the above two tips, add the apple cider vinegar to your bath (about 1 cup full of vinegar).

You WILL have detox symptoms from doing these steps. Because your body will be killing of the candida you may have diarrhea, stomach pains, and feel very tired. Many people (myself included) report expelling pure white/clear bowl movement while this die off happens.

You can continue the garlic if you like. But the coconut oil is an antibacterial type oil. It kills yeast. It is also one of the most healthy oils (if not THE healthiest). There are many many benefits to this oil.

What is the best way to get rid of breast thrush or candida albicans?

Question by plaidplaty: What is the best way to get rid of breast thrush or candida abicans?

Answer by DrkAngl

Ahh, candida. I’ve had my bouts with that. My allergist put me on what was called a “candida yeast free” diet. You can look more up on it at google.com also.

Basically, it was just a diet taking out all those things that cause the candida to grow in your body. Sugar, breads, pastas, mushrooms, anything made with mould (cheese), most fruits. The idea was to starve out the candida and let it die down.

What happens is that the body’s natural balance can gotten of track and this has allowed the candida to over grow. Acidopholus pills can be taken that will replenish the “good” bateria in the body. They can be found at most health food and vitamin stores. Also, your good old standard of yogurt, but make sure it says that the culture is “live active culture” or you get none of the good bacteria this way.

Ask your doctor about this too. There are pills to help ease up the growth these days if it’s a big problem. I know for those that keep having vaginal infections due to yeast, there is Nystatin. I’m sure there are others by now too.

It is a great sign that the doctors can’t find the exact problem of yours. But don’t be worried, go another well-known and specialized doctor on it and I think you shall get better treatment.

Q&A: What are the best medical test to find out if I have candida?

Question by Sol: What are the best medical test to find out if I have candida?
I am about to go to urgent care but want to know how to assure I am getting the best test possible so I don’ t get misdiagnosed with candida?
Is there anything that can interfere with the diagnosis?

Answer by Mags
Why not start with the home saliva test for candida? It won’t cost you anything and then perhaps you won’t be so insecure about the lab tests which are more specific.

This isn’t foolproof but it might help as a starting point.

1. Before going to bed tonight fill a clear glass about 3/4 full of water – leave it out on a flat surface

2. Tomorrow morning as soon as you get up – spit into the glass before you do anything else.

3. Watch the glass immediately so that you can track the saliva,

4. Make a mental note of the glass image at 3 minutes and again at 30 minutes. Your saliva should be floating at the top of the glass.

5. If it is not floating, if there are strings of saliva hanging down, it it sinks to the bottom it is not healthy. If the water is cloudy, you could have candida.

Okay so if it floats, is not heavier than the water, you are fine, if not, you should be tested. No, there is little that can interfere with testing unless you are trying cleanses on your own. Even then, the presence of candida will be found.

You already know that there are a few different types of tests beginning with a stool sample so you might want to take one with you – well packaged, please.

There is also a blood test to determine the antibodies present which offers a clue as to type of infection.

You might be most helped by a throat culture because once the culture is grown, the type can be determined. This is the way I would go if I were you.

They can also do a tissue biopsy if the infection is systemic – what it will determine is the spread of the candida. This wouldn’t necessarily be done at a first appointment.

You already know that you do not want to leave this condition untreated because it can become systemic and cause even more severe symptoms than those which you are already experiencing.

Your next concern is what kind of approach to take for treatment.

What are the best supplements/probiotics to take, to get rid of massive Candida infection?

Question by magnetbox: What are the best supplements/probiotics to take, to get rid of massive Candida infection?
I am too lazy to change my diet, so I’d like to know if there are any specific antifungals/probiotic supplements that work pretty well to destroy an intestinal yeast infection…?

If you managed to cure a Candida/yeast infection, what products or drugs did you take? How well did they work?

I REALLY need help on this as I am faced with a serious health problem that may or may not be Candida overgrowth, but without medical insurance, I can’t get extensive testing done to figure out what condition I really have. However from my own research, it seems likely that Candida is a major component of my long-term illness, if not the whole thing.

Can you treat Candida effectively with supplements/drugs, without making significant dietary changes?

I’m getting all sorts of symptoms now that keep increasing, something like IBS (I feel things moving in my digestive system, and constipation is severe) and blurry vision/eye pain/bloodshot eyes, water retention, fatigue.. I need some help!

Maybe a good flushing, as it were, would help. Ever go to a pharmacy and see a store brand laxative in an old-timey looking bottle? Liquid? (Try a Safeway, or CVS for instance.) Those are most effective and won’t kill you with cramps. Also, try an enema of one part vinegar four parts water. Scoff all you like, both an internal and external cleansing is mighty efficient for helping to neutralize the bacteria. Hope this helps!
