what happens if you leave your yeast infection?

Question by Teresa Osorio: what happens if you leave your yeast infection?
my friend had a yeast infection and she never bothered to treat it, she had it for months now. do you think that’s why her waist hurts or is it because she caught an infection?

Best answer:

Answer by Danielle D
There’s no way she has had a yeast infection for months. First of all, that would make her completely crazy – the pain and the itchiness are too much to bear. Secondly, yeast infections are self-limiting, meaning that they usually clear up around the time you have your period.

Finally, no STD is going to make your “waist” hurt.

All that being said, if she’s still having problems, she needs to see a doctor. No one is going to diagnose her on Yahoo! Answers.

Q&A: Is this the start of a yeast infection?

Question by cherryrosebud13: Is this the start of a yeast infection?
I used to get yeast infections ALL THE TIME! But I haven’t had one in a while and I kind of forget what it’s like. Well I found out on the 25th of July that I am pregnant. Last night I woke up at about 4 or so in the morning and went to the bathroom, I looked in my panties and there is a big circle [probably as big as a nickel] that was brown to yellow in color and it’s there when I wipe. It had no bad odor [ i know it doesn’t always] and I have no other symptoms {i know you don’t have to} Is this a yeast infection starting?? I am really nervous because I don’t have an appointment with my doctor til the 24th of this month. Should I try to go to my normal doctor for this? Will a yeast infection harm my fetus if I can’t get to the doctor for a couple days or a week? Can anyone give me some reassurance?? Thank you!
I’m not taking any kind of medication because some can harm the baby, I am not diagnosing myself with anything and trying to treat it with over the counter medicine. I was also thinking maybe my body is just cleansing itself out or something. I am definitly going to give the doctor a call.
Honestly, how can a dark yellow be old blood. It’s not old blood, because it’s not a red brown, it’s a dark yellow brown. I am just going to go to the hospital.

Answer by s0_blessed
Brown would indicate dried blood. It is common to have a tiny bit of spotting in the first trimester. It doesn’t sound like a yeast infection. I would call your doctor and tell him/her about the spotting, but minimal spotting like that is probably nothing. I’ve been through a healthy pregnancy with some spotting and had spotting in my 2nd pregnancy turn out to be a molar pregnancy. I wouldn’t worry, just let your doctor know.

Can you get a yeast infection in the anus or rectum?

Question by Cherrigirl22: Can you get a yeast infection in the anus or rectum?
I am kind of wondering about something. I went to have my rectum checked for hemorrhoids and my doctor said she did not find any. However, my anus is swollen. Is it possible that my rectum could have a yeast infection? Can there be an overgrowth of candida in my rectum and anus? Just wondering.

Best answer:

Answer by d
Yes, it is possible but a swab of the area would give you a definite answer. This is important as dermatitis and other skin conditions can also give similar symptoms. Also if it is thrush/yeast/candida you need to look for a reason why you have it – recent antibiotic use/ recent corticosteroid use/ diabetes/ excessive sweating etc

How should I tell my OBGYN that I think I have a yeast infection?

Question by Cory: How should I tell my OBGYN that I think I have a yeast infection?
So I’m 18 and I think I have a yeast infection and I’m seeing my OBGYN tomorrow about my birth control. How should I bring up/tell her that I think I have a yeast infection. It’s kind of embarrassing having to ask if I have it. I’m too embarrassed to even tell my mom.

Best answer:

Answer by *Blush*
Just ask what the symptoms of a yeast infection are. They will explain it and then either ask why or wait for you to tell them you think you have one. They may or may not need to do an exam and take a swab, but they can also recommend some treatments that will help. Most are OTC

Q&A: Is yogurt okay on a Candida diet?

Question by Juanita S: Is yogurt okay on a Candida diet?
I’ve been reading over 2 different diets for Candida and one says to have yogurt and the other says not to. One says you can have lemons and limes and the other says not to. One say you can have carrots and the other says not to? Which diet should I go by? Do you have any reccommendations for a Candida diet, and what about the yogurt?

Best answer:

Answer by SALLI58
As long as it doesn’t have sugar it should be okay.
Foods to Eat

Vegetables (including plenty of raw garlic), protein foods (beef, chicken, eggs, fish), live yogurt cultures (both dairy and non-dairy,) FOS*, whey, acidophilus, green algae’s (such as spirulina and chlorella), nuts, seeds and oils, and non-glutenous grains (like millet, rice, rice bran and oat bran).
* FOS, or Fructo-oligosaccharides, are nondigestible dietary fibers that help to keep the stomach and bowels healthy. FOS are considered a “prebiotic” because they nourish the naturally present “friendly” bacteria (especially Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli) which help to ward off infection in the digestive system.
Foods to Avoid

Aged cheeses, alcohol, chocolate, dried fruits, fresh fruits, fermented foods, mushrooms, vinegar, glutenous foods (wheat, rye, oats, barley), all sugars, honeys and syrups (that includes any ‘ose’, like lactose, sucrose etc), and foods that contain yeast or mold (breads, muffins, cakes, baked goods, cheese, dried fruits, melons, peanuts – although nutritional and brewer’s yeasts are not harmful, as they do not colonize in the intestines).

How does yeast/Candida leave your body?

Question by KW: How does yeast/Cadida leave your body?
And how will I know if the candida diet and probiotics are working?

Best answer:

Answer by IMGold
You will know if the diet and probiotics are working when you stop having symptoms. Of course, it depends on the severity of your symptoms.

I had severe yeast problems – since 1987 after a hysterectomy and it seemed like my body turned on itself. No matter how many diets and probiotics I took, I still had symptoms. Even when the itching, burning symptoms went away – sometimes only because of a prescription drug – the discomfort in my abdomen remained. I was informed I had “systemic yeast” and would probably just have to “learn to live with it,” take probiotics all the time and still end up with the heavy prescription drug when necessary.

What are some of the most powerful ways to eliminate Candida from the body?

Question by Look Its Jay: What are some of the most powerful ways to eliminate Candida from the body?
I have 2 persistent skin infections so it might be best for me to tackle the problem at its core, rather than superficially.

Best answer:

Answer by Ali
You can control candida by diet, as its a yeast infection. Get a proper diagnosis first as it may be something else such as eczema which requires different treatment.

How to get rid of a yeast infection on a budget?

Question by little_flower_of_god: How to get rid of a yeast infection on a budget?
I have a yeast infection that didn’t react to what the doctor prescribed… I can’t afford to go back to the doctor. I also don’t want to spend too much money on something over-the-counter that might not work either. Does anyone know of any easy ways of getting rid of this naturally?

Best answer:

Answer by KayleenR
I’ve heard about the yogurt, I think you use the bifidus yogurt, although I have never tried it. Once you are rid of the infection drink lots of fluid, about 2 liters per day, and cranberry juice is also good, one or 2 glasses per day. Really this is an area that you cannot compromise on , go back to the doc, tell him it did not work. I know you have a rather tight budget, but your health is really one area you cannot compromise on.

Last time I had a yeast infection, I got a horrible rash all around the tops of my thighs and around my underwear line. It lasted a few weeks, but after I started using medicated cream it went away in about 5-6 days.

Q&A: How Long Does It Take For Yogurt To Remove Yeast Infection?

Question by michell718123: How Long Does It Take For Yogurt To Remove Yeast Infection?
I put plain yogurt (with active culture) around my vulva and inside my vagina with a tampon, to get rid of a yeast infection the natural way. A couple of hours later, I do feel relief.

But how long will it take for the yeast to be complete vacant from my vagina, and when will my skin completely restore itself?

Best answer:

Answer by Larkin L
If it’s working, keep using it for at least 3 days. If it comes back, you should buy Monistat 7 instead.
