It may actually hinder your chances of becoming pregnant, but I would start treatment for it right away. If you tell your Dr you’re ttc they will give you something safe for baby to be. I would put a call into your Dr tomorrow so you don’t miss this window of op for the month and Good Luck!!

How should I tell my OBGYN that I think I have a yeast infection?

Question by Cory: How should I tell my OBGYN that I think I have a yeast infection?
So I’m 18 and I think I have a yeast infection and I’m seeing my OBGYN tomorrow about my birth control. How should I bring up/tell her that I think I have a yeast infection. It’s kind of embarrassing having to ask if I have it. I’m too embarrassed to even tell my mom.

Just ask what the symptoms of a yeast infection are. They will explain it and then either ask why or wait for you to tell them you think you have one. They may or may not need to do an exam and take a swab, but they can also recommend some treatments that will help. Most are OTC

Q&A: Should I treat a yeast infection if I only have one symptom?

Question by liz n: Should I treat a yeast infection if I only have one symptom?
I am 8 months pregnant, I just treated a yeast infection a month ago with Monistat 3, and it worked fine. My only symptom is itching. I do not want to pay for the doctor to test for a yeast infection. So should I assume it is a yeast infection and treat it with Monistat again since it has worked before?

Well, you COULD – but I’d call the doctor first to make sure it’s okay, and they don’t want to check you just to be safe.

You might not have one, you could be producing a lot of discharge, which can seriously irritate your delicate parts.

They sell yeast infection test kits around the same area. Ask the pharmacist if you don’t see it.

But the bottom line is, call the doctor anyway. At this stage you don’t want to take the liberty to self-medicate with anything.

What foods should a person avoid if they have candida?

Question by Rosebud: what foods should a person avoid if they have candida?
I’m trying to find the best cure for candida, and I hear there are certain foods you should stay away from.

I’ve heard that people with candida should avoid sugar, glucose, etc. because it provides food for the yeast within your body. I’ve also heard that eating the probiotic bacteria will help to reduce it due to competition for nutrients within your intestines. You can get those from yogurt with “active cultures” in it. I’d double check with a doctor or dietician to be sure, though.
